The Pacific Coast Cichlid Association is proud to announce Mr. Ken Davis from Statham, Georgia, as our speaker on Feb 13, 2010.

Mr. Ken Davis started keeping fish when he was 6 years old, catching introduced exotics in the creek behind his house when he lived in Tampa, Mostly livebearers, but it was a start. It was a little that he knew where this would lead. His parents bought him a 10 gallon tank to keep his catch as he was proliferating little containers all over his bedroom with full of aquatic creatures.Tanks seemed to multiple as easily as guppies as he currently has about 600 tanks.

He keeps a variety of cichlids from Africa, Central and South America and many wild type fancy livebearers and discus. He got his first discus in 1978. Keeping them alive back then was the challenge. His first successful spawn was in 1982 with some of those "new" Wattley Turquoise and he has been hooked ever since.

Mr. Ken Davis has been the President of the Atlanta Area Aquarium Association (AAAA) since 1998, was elected to the first of 4 terms to the American Cichlid Association (ACA) BOT in 1998 and served as Chairman of the Board in 1999 and 2004. He was Chairman of two very successful ACA Convention in 2002 and 2008 in Atlanta . He was also elected to the Board of Directors of The North American Discus Association in 2005 and he has belonged to the American Livebearer Association for many years. Please join us on Feb 13, 2010, at 4400 StevensCreek Blvd, San Jose, CA 95129.
